It’s time for CHANGE! Revamping name, logo,website to better align with my principals. Get ready to get WILD! Welcome to the new Wild Birth Services!! It will be a year of changes, completely being unveiled in it’s entirety by 2024.
Collaborative Practice! In order for midwifery to be sustainable, a midwife has to have time off call to refresh, renew, and reset. Starting in July 2022 my practice will be supporting two other birthing practices and vice versa. This means scheduled weekends and days off call that we wouldn't otherwise get. Rest assured you will get to meet all of us throughout your care and feel our synergistic style of practice well before you go into labor. We each bring unique skills to the table that make both practices better! I’m so glad to have team support!
Starting May 1st, 2022 I will be honing in on my specialty of clients; VBAC, BREECH transfers, and rural home births. I will only be taking repeat clients, those referred by former clients, and clients that are VBACs in the phoenix metro area. This will leave more space to travel to new places and communities that don’t have a 20+ strong group of midwives serving their community! Breech transfers to homebirth will be considered on a case by case basis as schedule allows. All inquiries for non specialty home births will be referred to other homebirth midwife practitioners here in town.

Announcements:
The department of health has changed their fee for Newborn Metabolic Screening (PKU) from two fees, one per test, to one single fee of $171. All babies born after 11/1/2022 will be billed the new fee. THEY WILL NOT BILL INSURANCE. You have to pay out of pocket for this testing.
As of January 1st, 2022 ROPA is yet again making it more difficult for AHCCCS clients to get care. After over a year of trying they still will not let me become a preferred provider. Therefore, going forward labs are no longer covered under insurance if I draw them at your home. So, all labs for AHCCCS clients will either need to be drawn at the lab to get a cash pay rate or drawn through a contracted OB or CNM provider. Establishing care with one of these providers may be needed, and I can assist you in finding these providers. Additionally, there is even less guarantee that you will receive any reimbursement at the end of your care. I will continue to fight for my clients in this area!
Newborn hearing services! I have recertified as a newborn hearing specialist and the department of health has granted me equipment to screen babies in the comfort of your home. All my client will now receive this service at their 2 week postpartum visit. Outside clients are welcome to call for an in home hearing screening appointment.
Price increases. In order to adjust for inflation and increased cost of supplies, any adjustments to my normal fee schedule will go into effect on May1st of each calendar year. All new clients that sign on after May 1st will be subject to the new price rate. This may or may not happen every year so please refer to the compensation agreement emailed to you after the initial inquiry process for accurate pricing. I will use the global billing fee (the national standard price for homebirth midwife services) of $5000 as my standard to base my pricing off of. The new rate for 2024 will be $5000, all clients booked after 5/1/2023 will be subject to the new price change.
Current Availability:
I usually take only 2 new clients per month, this allows a buffer for a Breech transfer or repeat clients to have a spot. Most clients hold their spots early in their pregnancy (around 4-6 weeks) and start care when they are ready. Sometimes spots become available when held spots end in a loss or medical transfer. A waitlist will be formed once I hit my cap. Holding your spot early allows for true comfort, support, and honoring of the birthing process even in the event of a miscarriage. Preconception interviews are now available for those wanting to secure a care provider prior to getting pregnant. This also gives you access to a spot on my schedule in the same way that a repeat client would. OFF months mean I am taking no due dates in that month to reset and focus on my family for a few weeks before going back on call again. I will only consider repeat clients during these months. Breech transfers will always be considered. Repeat clients ALWAYS have a spot!
